Reggae colour tattoo patterns

The image without the black background really suited the work and the brightness of the reggae work clearly shows my work. I am thinking of making a A5 booklet with this book cover design.

Photoshop work

So heres my finished photoshop work that I have done by the way. The reggae colours really suited the pattern which is related to cultures. So the areas that are not working is white spots and that really ruined my work. The black background wasnt suited as well because its not in a square frame.

Expirement with photoshop

I have used photoshop to expirement colouring the Polynesian designs. I quickmasked some areas of the design and started colouring some areas. I choose to use 3 colours that are actually the traffic lights colours. I will try and create a A5 size book cover to suit a small book located in the Creative arts library.

My book cover displays at the Creative arts library

So I have displayed my first book cover on a shelf in the creative arts library to check if its more suitable. It was hard to find a thin book at an exact size of my A4 landscape cover design. I will also be planning to do a different size cover either and A3 or A5 size that fits on a book nicely.

Art exhibitions at Pataka Art plus museum

So these Art exhibitions were displayed at Pataka Art + Museum. Some displays has food packets displayed and many people accidentally stepped onto the packets who thought to be a mat for the floor. The light works were my best ones for the Pataka Art plus Museum galleries.

Standups in Wellington

These are my room mates that I hangout with during my Tautai tertiary road trip. This is while we wait for others to finish their shoppings in a old fashion store.

Pacific arts at Te Papa Museum

So these works were displayed at the store room of Te Papa museum. Alot of then were displayed and not much of the other artworks were displayed because it was locked on a shelf.

Wellington walks

Walking all over Wellington was a tiring day and even thought it was sunny during the day and windy cold during the night. We walked all over Wellington city to checkout all galleries that are private and public. Te papa museum was my favourite visits because I can get to look at various pacific artworks and the tapas and fabric designs was my most favourite art I have ever seen.

Back view of Te Papa museum

This is the back view of Te Papa museum where we went through the back door to head down to the back store room to view pacific artworks. It has been stored in the room for a very long time since Tautai has planned this road trip for Art tertiary students.

Te Papa museum visits (Wellington trip)

We were in a huge lift going up to visit the Pacific island works inside the back store room viewing many artworks done my various pacific islanders. This was part of me and Pascals Tautai road as we got chosen to represent Manukau Institute plus the 2 others from year 3. It also involves other students from other Tertiary art schools such as AUT, Whitecliffe, Elam and Unitec.

Circular polynesian drawings and shadings

This is the design that I've done in drawing skills class and this one is my favourite one. I am thinking of doing this design for my A4 size book cover. The red ink colour really stands out more since it was a bright colour. The shading bits are my most favourite one and I will definitely be choosing this ideas for my A4 size landscape booklet.

Circular polynesian designs in a A5 booket

This design really reminds me of a mandala looking design. As part of my drawing skills class, I was doing a whole page circular polynesian designs and I was planning to do something different to this one for my book cover final projects.

Polynesian drawing on paper

So I was focusing on drawing my design on a hard piece of paper. I use A1 size paper then folded them up in A4 grids to create a A4 landscape size book cover. I've then started off using a black fine point marker before coloring some areas with an ink pen.

Polynesian colouring clip

This is a few second video to show that I have been adding some bright colours onto my polynesian designs. This work was part of Drawing skills and techniques 2 class and I would borrow some ideas to add to my book cover design for the library books or an exercise book for a student or a family member

Selfie pic in front of a greenlight projector @ Victoria university

So we visited the Adam gallery over at Victoria university in Wellington for the Tautai trip and tried to experience myself taking a selfie in front of a projector. There were 3 different colours which was red, blue and orange.

Tautai Tertairy road trip timetables

So Pascal and I has been visiting all these places as mentioned on the images and it was  great visiting all galleries to view some works to look for ideas for our semester one projects.

Tautai lunch break

It was freezing cold in the middle of our trip on our way to Wellington. We had a lunch break at Mt Ruapehu and resting our butts from sitting down for over 4 hours in the small bus. Once we got off the bus, most of us didnt realise it was freezing cold outside since it was very hot in the bus. It was a great experience visiting all galleries but even though it was tiring walking around the cities viewing every artists work. Most of the artists I've seen are my most favourite ones.

Tautai visits to Pataka Art + Museum in Porirua

So the whole Tautai crew went to Porirua for lunch and discovered another museum found near the shopping centres. We went to visit the Pataka museum to check out some art works relating to what I will be doing. Even though there was some interesting art exhibition that I have never seen in my whole entire life and i find that its very good.

Tautai visit to Te Papa Museum Wellington

So me, Pascal and the rest of the Art students has visited Te Papa museum back room to view many pasifika art works that involves weaving, wood carving and Tapa designs. So I was chosen to attend the Tautai trip to experience all the art works displayed at each galleries in the Wellington region.

Ipad cover research 3

I find this design very interesting because the primary colours brightens up the polynesian design. I might try to do something like this for a book cover design experimenting with different colours

Ipad cover research 2

I've found this image online and I really like this polynesian design. So I am planning to do a 3 colour polynesian design on a piece of card paper. There was an unknown artist who does this work and it was found on Pinterest website.

MIT Title

I am planning to do my own style MIT logo to make a title on my book cover and adding my polynesian patterns for the background. I've used photoshop and illustrator to edit this design and it will also be used for my screenprinting project.

Iphone cover research

I've done another research on polynesian phone covers. I like how they carve patterns on wooden covers. I chose this image to give me some patterns ideas to draw on my final book cover project.
